“Over a fourteen-year period from 1999 to 2013, one hedge fund carried out out an investment strategy utilizing hundreds of millions of trades, virtually all of which lasted less than 12 months, and characterized the vast majority of the resulting $34 billion in trading profits as long-term capital gains ... resulting in estimated tax avoidance of more than $6 billion.”– Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, United States Senate, 2014

This publicly recorded statement exposes the shocking truth about how Wall Street, and the billionaire class, have continued to manipulate and exploit the financial system, taking advantage of loop holes to pull the wool over the eyes of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Routing some of this `dirty money' into the election campaign coffers of various presidential candidates provides them with access to the levers of power in Washington D.C.. The 2016 U.S. presidential election has seen a lot of attention focused on this ‘corrupt’ political campaign finance system. It's time the real truth emerged.

Using this watershed 2016 election as the context, this book makes a candid analysis of the campaign contributions to various presidential candidates across three presidential election cycles (2008, 2012 and 2016) to trace the total flow of ‘dirty money’ from its source to those presidential campaigns.

While America has typically been allowed to see just the tip of iceberg so far, ‘Dirty Money,’ reveals the dirty money trail it in its entirety, making available previously hidden information on the top donors in each presidential election cycle, and the beneficiaries of their vast contributions.

If you believe in democracy, at all, this is a must read.

An author’s perspective on how corrupt most business managers & politicians are.
“The 2016 Democratic nominee for the U.S. presidential election, Hillary Clinton, promised to rein in on Wall Street & penalize (corporate) tax evaders, but she had no qualms in accepting $7 million campaign money from RenTec’s founder & current board chair, James H. Simons.”
Of course, Donald Trump, Mitt Romney & Ted Cruz only took a measly “$3 million.” Even the former President Obama took “$5 million.”
George Soros contributed over $8.74 million to Hillary Clinton’s election campaign.
Haim Saban & Cheryl Saban (wife) contributed $11.44 million to Hillary Clinton’s election campaign.

Pat Stryker contributed over $2.67 million to Hillary Clinton’s election campaign.
Blackstone Group L.P. contributed over $128,100 to Hillary Clinton’s election campaign.
Political candidates who have given speeches to Wall Street firms as well as other corporations should provide full & complete disclosure on these paid/unpaid speeches that they have made.

Time is money; all of them were paid.

Hillary Clinton either as a Senator or Secretary of State received $21.14 million for 91 speeches alone.

You don’t want to know how much the yearly contributions to the Clinton Foundation are.

And yes, for you Trump haters he needs to release his tax information.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow a very well written current political perspective book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great current political perspective movie, PS or corporate/business law college PP presentation, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

informative and well researched ... always wondered how brokers accumulated so much money and after watching the big short this explains so much more ... our world is sorely full of corruption
Dirty Money was an eye opening account of campaign finance and the desperate need for the reform of where this money comes from. As the election of 2016 comes closer, this book is timely in that it shows that neither of the two candidates can show a clear and honest campaign run with monies derived not from ill gotten gains. As a resident of Rhode Island, the chapter on the pension system really resonated with me, as I do not have a pension in my job, due to this pension fiasco. The Blackrock chapter also spoke to me, as an investor, because I have stocks with this company. I have never fully trusted this company, and now I know why. The Wall Street giants, political gurus and billionaires play chess with the little people and we are always the ones who lose. Even in the banking crisis, the banks did not lose big, the little people did. When will there be actual prices to be paid for the mistakes made to the American public? The book was anger inducing, in a good way, but it makes us feel very powerless against our government. And the officials wonder why the people are so angry and disillusioned
Dirty Money U.S. Presidential Elections 2016 by Ramesh S Arunachalam is a stunning account of one of the biggest frauds in financial history, a powerful insight into the shady world of Wall Street that routinely and perpetually take advantage of the loopholes in the US financial system to get away with taxes. But has the tycoons that run Wall Street gotten to do with the 2016 US Presidential elections?

With what seems like forensic analysis, the author examines how dirty money has been used over the years to fund the different Presidential Elections in the US. What role do the contributors play in US politics? How does it play to their advantage? In effect, who are the real shakers in the US Political arena? These are questions that this book answers and more.

The reader immediately feels that the author knows what he is talking about because of the references to legitimate sources. It’s no doubt this is a work of great research and it takes a lot of diligence to do this. Plus, the book is written in a very accessible style. A timely work that will open the eyes of American Citizens who want to understand the part that dirty money plays in US politics. So timely, so mind-blowing, and highly questioning of the current financial and political systems, this book comes across as a sharp eye-opener for curious readers.

Enjoyed this book. Makes one wonder whether any of the information within the book could have had any impact on the election result.
Most of us who are watching the American Presidential elections are bombarded with advertisements on TV, social media, YouTube and elsewhere. These advertisements and other campaign expenses are not cheap. We are bound to be wondering how Mr. Trump and Ms. Clinton and all the other candidates for congressional seats finance their campaigns. Dirty Money is a topical eBook that examines aspects of campaign financing.

In the first chapter, the author, Mr. Arunachalam, sets the context by explaining fund raising by political interests, some of which may have a conflict of interest. This is followed by an analysis of Tax Evasion in campaign financing. The author also looks at some of the topical issues like Fracking (and big oil) and how they impact campaign financing. The author tries to explain how "dirty money" and corrupt campaign finance system impede the ability to promote free and fair elections.

Dirty Money concludes with an extensive collection of references to government, corporate and independent research, that backs up some of the Author's analysis
